2009 - "Rob" has completed the requirements for his SIRE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE! With over 15,000 sire points at the end of 2009, his "happy day" will be at the AGM in Lexington, KY in February 2010...where his son, Rollingwoods Cookie Thief LOM AOE, will be awarded his Individual ORDER of the DRAGON. We have Cookie Thief and Hot Pursuit to thank for the needed points. His son, Gayfields Magic Me, is now Emma Lemke's hunter pony and they did very, very well at the 2009 Pony Hunter Finals. We are particularly happy with his two 2009 foals, Gayfields Macho Man and Gayfields Pardon My French!, and look forward to using his son, Gayfields Louisiana Man , at stud next year. LA Man is a full brother to Macho Man and is a nice big boy (above 13.3 before his 2nd birthday) with a great attitude.

2008 - "Rob" has completed the requirements for his SIRE Legion of Merit! With over 11,000 sire points at the end of 2007 he still lacked that fifth required son or daughter with at least 300 individual points. Hot Pursuit, owned and shown by Doug Wade and ridden by his daughter, Elise Ortega-Wade, won more than enough at early shows in Texas to put him over. Rob and Gayfields thank them very much...but, "keep showing Rollingwoods Cookie Thief, Gayfields The Sleuth, Gayfields Magic Me, Gayfields Got It Goin' On, Hot Pursuit and his other offspring...and maybe he'll get his Sire Award of Excellence some happy day."

2005 UPDATE: This year the High Score Sec. B Stallion Champion (Rollingwoods Cookie Thief), the Reserve High Score Sec. B Stallion (Gayfields The Sleuth) and the High Score Jr. Champion Gelding Sec. B (Gayfields Magic Me!), were all sons of JG Cops and Robbers and all out of different daughters of *Sleight of Hand. One of his yearling daughters, Gayfields Got It Goin' On, was Grand Champion Sec. B Pony at the Central National Welsh Show in Tulsa. She, too, was out of a different daughter of Sleight of Hand.
JG Cops & Robbers stood 4th in the Sec. B sire ratings. Both his sire, Gayfields Call The Cops and grandsire, Sleight of Hand shared the top FIVE with Rob as did one other Sleight of Hand Grandson.

Cops and Robbers combines the pedigrees of three of the five stallions exerting a major influence at Gayfields: *Coed Coch Prydydd (through his son, Rambur Seven), Findeln Blue Danube (through his daughter Dixie Blue Duchess) and *Sleight of Hand (through his son and Rob's sire Gayfields Call The Cops). He has NO lines tracing to the other two: *Brockwell Spider and *Pendock Masterpiece. Although we bought him from Jo Gittemeier (after she leased Gayfields Call The Cops for a season) to breed to the daughters of Spider and Masterpiece, many of his mares have been by Sleight of Hand. "Rob" has produced foals yearly since 2000 at Gayfields and has other get on the ground from outside mares, both natural cover and A.I. His son, Gayfields The Sleuth was Reserve Supreme Champion at the 2004 American National Show in California. At 13.2hh Rob is doing the job with our mares and we are proud of him. Click HERE for a sample of why we feel that way!

Rob has his father's good bone. His action is perhaps lower than Sleight's but strong and reaching. Besides his offspring retained at Gayfields, he has sons and daughters now pretty much across the continent. His disposition is friendly and kind and I suspect he'll be at Gayfields for a long, long time.
